How do I prevent my foundation from settling into fine lines and wrinkles?

Hey everyone, I've been facing a pesky issue with my foundation lately. No matter how I apply it, it seems to settle into my fine lines and wrinkles, emphasizing them rather than hiding them. It's frustrating! Does anyone have any advice or tricks to prevent this from happening? I'd love to achieve a smoother finish without highlighting those little imperfections. Application technique: 
Whether you use a sponge or a foundation brush to apply your foundation, it is best to press the foundation onto your skin rather than sweep it on. This way, you press the foundation into areas that you wish to smooth over. Also, be sure to set your foundation with powder very lightly to avoid a cakey look!
