What are your go-to tips for achieving a natural-looking contour?

Hey everyone! I really want to improve on my contouring and achieve a more natural-looking effect. Any tips or techniques you've found helpful in creating a subtle and defined contour that doesn't look overly done?  Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Hi! For a natural-looking contour, the first step is to always choose a contour shade that best suits your skin tone and makeup aesthetic. In this instance, you’d like a defined contour, so a cooler contour that is 1-2 shades darker is best. For it to look as natural as possible, apply it in areas where you naturally have a shadow. For an even more natural-looking appearance, opt for a fluffy brush to blend the edges of the contour upwards towards your cheeks, never downwards towards your jawline.
