What should I look for in a foundation for dry skin?
Asked a year ago
Hey community, I've always had dry skin, and lately, it seems like every foundation I try only accentuates the dryness and flakiness. It's getting quite frustrating! For those with dry skin or anyone familiar with makeup for this skin type, what should I be looking for in a foundation to ensure it's hydrating and won't cling to dry patches? I really want a smooth, dewy finish without the dryness peeking through. Any pointers would be so appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello! For dry skin, it is always best to opt for hydrating foundations with a luminous finish. If you enjoy lighter coverage, a serum-based foundation can also work wonders on dry skin. Another tip is to add hydrating primers to your foundation routine.
However, to completely prevent foundation from accentuating dryness, it is crucial to have a solid and consistent skincare routine. One that caters to your skin type and your skin’s overall texture, so you have a smoother makeup application and finish.
