How do I properly clean and sanitize my foundation brushes?

Hey everyone, I've been realizing that while I use my foundation brushes regularly, I'm not entirely sure I'm cleaning and sanitizing them as thoroughly as I should be. I'm a bit concerned about potential skin issues from using unclean brushes. Does anyone have a recommended method or routine for properly cleaning and sanitizing foundation brushes? I want to ensure I'm taking the best care of my tools and my skin. Thanks for any advice!

I like to deep clean my foundation brushes at least every 10 days. This is how I clean and sanitize them:
I collect all my makeup brushes and take them to the sink. One by one, I start rinsing the ends of the brushes, and I am mindful not to let the water touch the base of the bristles, as this can make your makeup brushes start shedding.
Then I apply either a gentle hair shampoo or a makeup brush cleaner and massage the brushes. Lightly squeezing the foundation out.
I then rinse the shampoo off the brushes until the water turns clear.
I lay all my brushes down on a towel and allow them to dry for at least 12 hours.
If you want to take an extra step, you can also spray rubbing alcohol on the brushes after laying them out to dry.
