How can I cover up dark circles effectively without making them look cakey?

Asked a year ago

Hey everyone, I'm grappling with a consistent issue when trying to cover my dark circles. While I've tried various concealers, I often end up with a cakey appearance under my eyes. It's been frustrating! Does anyone have any techniques or product recommendations to effectively conceal dark circles without that heavy, cakey result? I'm aiming for a natural yet well-covered look. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi! This is something that used to happen to me all the time. By mid-day, I’d have a creased and cakey undereye. But I’ve found the following tips very effective:

First, add hydrating eye creams to your skincare routine. This will make your concealer application smoother, prevent creasing, and make your makeup last longer without it looking cakey.

Then start applying under-eye concealer in small amounts by pressing the concealer onto your skin. If you want more coverage, add as necessary. If you are naturally heavy-handed with products, then opt for a lightweight concealer.

Finally, set your concealer with a finely milled setting powder by lightly pressing it onto your undereye area.
